200 brand-new cooking classes are now available! Browse through our schedule online and register for a delicious cooking adventure. Taste some of the cuisines we’re cooking: Brazilian, Chinese, Cuban, French, Greek, Indian, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Moroccan, Persian, Portuguese, Southern, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese — plus lots of baking, candy, chocolate, and decorating classes. We even have one class that combines Thai and Italian for a fabulous marriage on October 16. By popular demand, we are butchering a whole hog on October 13.
We heartily welcome back chef Brenda Vanden Bos to our kitchen on November 3 and 4. Brenda taught hundreds of memorable cooking classes between 1998-2005. We still make her tomato chutney and chocolate cake (recipes available in our cookbook, A Passion for Cooking). Brenda will teach three classes: One Jam Thing After Another, Food Fete, and Put That In Your Pan and Smoke It.
Our most tantalizing class will be chef Bernard Pilon of Norwood Country Club on October 13, as he demonstrates some amazing new techniques in the kitchen to create remarkable dishes in Contemporary Arts and Science in the Kitchen.
Since I love oysters, I am most excited about chef Jon Lowe of Oceano Bistro and his all-oyster festival on October 25. Yes, we will have plenty of oyster knives on hand (including my all-time favorite Rosle oyster knife) so you can master the skill of shucking.
By popular demand, we are reprising some of our favorite recipes in a series of cooking classes called Recipe Redux. Remember some of St. Louis’s best restaurant chefs as we demonstrate their best dishes on September 17, September 29, October 3, November 5, and December 12.
More cute titles are back: Do You Phyllo Like a Party, You Had Me at T-Bone, and Party Thai’m are my favorites.
