Last December, a couple purchased a seat in a cooking class as a gift for a young, single man who was working so hard that he had little social life. What they did not tell him was that the class was “Girls’ Night Out: The Heat is On.” He arrived late, in work clothes, and sat in the only open seat. The rest of the class — all women — chuckled at him. They enjoyed a menu of mojitos, salsa baked goat cheese, Caesar salad with red chile croutons, seared scallops with jalapeno cream, sweet potato-chipotle gratin, and coconut-lime sorbet.
The food was delicious and the company very pleasant — so pleasant that last week he proposed marriage to a woman he met at that cooking class. Best wishes to Dr. Tommy Burnham and Cheryl Meyer!
Give a gift of cooking classes; they can change lives!
What a great story!
